Making Indian Head thrive is what we've been working towards. Over the last few years, we have attracted reinvestment in vacant and blighted spaces, made huge infrastructure improvements to maintain the highest quality services, completed the Indian Head Riverwalk, and soon Indian Head will welcome its first grocery store in decades (Opening in Early 2024!)
Below you will find initiatives that I would like completed over the next four years.
Potomac River Plan (PRP)
Developing a plan for the Potomac River is essential now with Phase 1 of the Riverwalk complete. Having more public access, parking, commerce, and activity along the Potomac will make our community attractive and diversify our economy.
Improve and Add to Parks
Improving our parks is essential to quality of life for many families. My goal is to add to our great parks. Adding a splash park and PA system to the Village Green, new equipment, and more amenities are essential to the quality of life for our residents.
Development of a Comprehensive "Streetscape plan"
Walkability in Town is a passion of mine. Developing a long term approach to addressing sidewalks, crosswalks, streetlighting, landscaping, etc. is necessary to make Indian Head attractive for the next generation and have a congruent and small town look/feel.
Southern Maryland Carousel
The Southern Maryland Carousel Group has agreed to locate in Indian Head! This will be an awesome opportunity and something extremely fun for kids. I want to help them get to the finish line and build and operate this awesome project in town.
Expand Community Services
Expanding community services is necessary as we continue to develop. Developing a larger space where we can continue to serve and provide impeccable service will be of importance. Leveraging our relationships with County entities to backfill existing space will also provide additional service to our residents.
Youth Enrichment Center/ Boys & Girls Club
Providing an educational and recreational space for our youth to enjoy structured activities is something I've long wanted and wish I had as a kid. Learning opportunities for our youth to help them grow is essential for the future of Indian Head! Getting the Boys & Girls Club a permanent location so they can operate all days of the week is essential for youth engagement!
We've started a residential camera rebate program and work closely with CCSO and local partners. Keeping our communities safe is an essential part to make Indian Head a place to Live, Learn, Work, and Play. My goal will be to find ways to get one of our public safety partners to locate within the town and continue to fund efforts that reduce crime and make our community safe and secure.
Together we can Thrive
I'm elated to run for mayor to revitalize my hometown of Indian Head, MD. We have done so much great work over the last few years while never raising the tax rate. Consider the progress when going to vote and remember, Together we can THRIVE. Vote on May 2nd, 2023.
Indian Head Riverwalk
This administration successfully built the Riverwalk along the Potomac after decades of people talking about it. Bringing a wonderful community amenity to the area!
