Priorities

Vote Paulin for District 2

Leadership means listening, learning, and taking action. What sets strong leadership apart is the willingness to confront challenges head-on. I won’t pretend to have every solution, but I promise to work tirelessly to address the concerns of our community and build a Charles County that serves all of us.

Below, I’ve shared my perspective on some of the key issues facing our county. If you have questions, ideas, or feedback, I’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out at VoteBrandonPaulin@gmail.com.

Where I Stand

Education

Education is the foundation of a strong community and a thriving local economy. Investing in our schools means investing in our future. Ensuring every child in Charles County has access to quality teachers, safe facilities, and the resources they need to succeed. We must strengthen partnerships between schools, local businesses, and the College of Southern Maryland to create pathways from the classroom to careers. By supporting educators and expanding opportunities for students, we can prepare the next generation to lead, innovate, and build their futures right here at home.

Economic Development

Economic development is about creating opportunity. By attracting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, and investing in career-oriented industries, we can build a stronger, more self-sustaining Charles County. Expanding our local job base keeps residents working closer to home, strengthens small towns, and increases revenue for schools and public services without the further reliance on residential property taxes. With smart planning and targeted investment, we can foster an economy that works for everyone — one that creates good-paying jobs, revitalizes our communities, and secures a brighter future for all who call Charles County home.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure paves the way for future improvements. These largely unseen projects have major impacts on day-to-day operations when left unfunded, ignored, or placed on the sidelines. Infrastructure has been and will be a large priority. Because everyone deserves roads that are safe to drive on, water that's safe to drink, and access to highspeed internet in today's technological era.

Environment and Resiliency

I am committed to protecting our environment while building a more resilient future. I believe that sustainable growth, clean water, and green infrastructure are essential to preserving the natural beauty of our communities. I will champion projects that reduce flooding risks, protect Charles County's shorelines, and safeguard our ecosystems, ensuring that Charles County thrives for generations to come.

Affordability

Charles County must remain a place where working families, seniors, and young people can afford to stay and thrive. Too many residents are feeling the pressure of higher housing costs, rising taxes, and everyday expenses that keep climbing while wages lag behind. As your District 2 County Commissioner, I will fight to put affordability at the heart of our county’s decisions.

Government Transparency and Accountability

As a candidate committed to serving the residents of Charles County, I believe that government transparency and accountability foster trust and engagement in our community. I will work tirelessly to ensure that every citizen has access to the information they need to stay up to date about local government decisions. Together, we can create a more open and accountable government that empowers residents to actively participate in shaping the future of our county. I will also propose measures that keep the Board of Commissioners honest, efficient, and working on behalf of the people. Let's work hand in hand to build a stronger, more transparent Charles County for all.

Community Development

Everyone deserves a say in the future of their own community. I plan to host listening sessions with communities in my district and learn more about how they want their community to develop. Together we can create plans to achieve the broader goals of the community. The process matters and I will give every individual the opportunity to have a say in the future of their community.

Smart Growth

Smart growth means planning for the future in a way that strengthens our communities without sacrificing what makes them special. It’s about encouraging development that creates jobs and housing while protecting our natural resources, managing traffic, and ensuring schools and infrastructure keep pace. By focusing growth where it makes sense we can reduce sprawl, preserve open space, and build vibrant, connected communities. Smart growth isn’t just about managing change; it’s about shaping it responsibly, so Charles County grows stronger, not just bigger.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Brandon Paulin and have seen firsthand his steady leadership, integrity, and commitment to serving our community. As Mayor of Indian Head, Brandon has delivered results while always putting residents first. I’m confident he will bring that same dedication and common-sense leadership to the County Commissioner’s office for District 2. That’s why I proudly endorse Brandon Paulin
